Link of the Week (or Whenever) Scrappy Ron

February 11, 2009 — Apparently part of a promotion last summer to market a new line of baseball bats, Easton produced five short videos titled “Hardball Made Easy,” starring self-proclaimed* career minor leaguer Ron Stillanovich.

*A search of several baseball databases revealed no player with the last name Stilanovich. In fact, a Google of “+stilanovich -scrappy -easton” reveals nothing beyond the press release information. Perhaps the man in the video is real, however his credentials appear to be nonexistent.

Despite the mystery of this guy’s baseball credentials, these videos are quite funny. More so, if like me, you notice that “Scrappy Ron” reminds you of one too many Little League or Baseball Academy coaches. There are five videos in the series and one very short blooper clip. Bye for now!
