Thanks for the thoughts. It&#039;s kind of funny what I remember, since this happened close to 20(?) years ago. I think what meant the most to me was I finally got to have conversations with my maternal Grandparents. 

Sounds odd, I know. You see, I never really talked with my paternal Grandparents who immigrated to the U.S. sometime before WWII&#8212;the 1930s, I believe. By the time I was proficient enough in Japanese, Grandpa was about stone-deaf and Grandma had a tendency to ramble. She often thought I was my sister, who never spoke Japanese. There were some other odd family dynamics involved as well. Dad didn&#039;t get along with his sisters, so we didn&#039;t visit his parents much. 

At any rate, I feel blessed to have spent time with one Grandma, both in life and in death. . .BeesGal</description>
