A Special Mother’s Day for the Kotchmans

May 10, 2009 — As Mother’s Day 2009 comes to a close, I discovered another reminder of why we should treasure the gifts we have received and take nothing for granted. I remember this day, last August. My first thought when I saw the news, where’s Kotch? Tom Kotchman, the Orem Owlz manager, was in Missoula, MT, over a hundred miles from the closest major airport.
Thankfully, this tale ends with a miracle. Don’t forget to call, or better yet, hug your Mom today. If she asks why, say it’s a favor for a friend. . .Your friend in baseball.
